Downfall EP digital release out now!

Hell Yeah! It’s throwback time! Back in 2006 we unofficially released a 5 piece EP called “Downfall”, that was also the band name at the time. This record has long been unavailable, so we decided to give it a new life as a digital release. So, Blackstar Halo proudly presents the “Downfall EP”! Including “End of the Story” and “Downfall 2006”, both all time gig standards for us. Go check it out!

The Queen single released

Eight years after the 2010 album “Illuminated”, Blackstar Halo from Tampere Finland, is releasing a new album “Siren”. The first cut from the album, a track called “The Queen” is coming out todaty 8.6.2018 on all major digital platforms as well as a music video on YouTube. The album itself will be published in autumn 2018.

The song flirts shamelessly with 80’s disco with its groovy rhythmic foundation, but the real teeth of it are the heavy, low-tuned and melodic guitars.

The video for the song keeps the light and entertaining touch and adds a shallow, almost pop-esque feel to it. The video is co-starred with Jussi Koivula, a boxer from Tampere who also appears on critically acclaimed movie “Daddy loves you”.

Hi people!

We had some trouble with our website, but its now moved to a new location and hopefully running better than ever. Our new music video is done as is the new album and we are anxious to get it out! Video will be out first followed by couple of singles and then the album. We are still working on when and how to release everything but hopefully we manage to figure it out soon. Hi Guys!

Long time no see. It has taken so much longer to finish everything and I am very sorry about that. We started recording in 2012 and now its end of 2016. The video for the first single was shot in 2014 and its yet not released. I have worked hard all these years with my limited resources to make Siren album come alive. Two songs are already mixed 2 years ago, but to get the rest of the songs ready have taken every bit of my energy I could spare. There has been many hardships along the way… the hard disk containing all the songs got formatted by accident, erasing 2 months of work just to name one. BUT.

Now: All songs are being mixed as I am writing this. We have rehearsed the new songs hard and are in pretty awesome shape. Album main artwork is done. We are about to get stuff out: Indiegogo rewards, singles, gigs and everything else. I am confident we have made a good and relevant album even though times have changed so much after we have started making this.

Update on Siren album

I think we owe you guys some info about the project Siren. So as you might know the Indiegogo -campaign did not go as well as we would have liked and because of that we cannot proceed fully on the project, as we intended. But we promised you a class A- record in any case and we intend to keep that promise. We have now started plan B and so far it seems to be working out very nicely.

The mixing we talked about earlier ALAS is impossible with this budget but we found a great alternative which we will reveal later. Now we are focusing on the album mixing and delivering you the goods you ordered from the Indiegogo -campaign. Please send us your shirt size if you have not already done that! We will extend the campaign to our website for everyone who missed the opportunity. We will not however provide all things we did at our initial campaign, because we want our most loyal fans to have something special.

We have also chosen the track for the first single from the album. This piece is now being mixed to its final shape and also a storyboard is being made for the promotional video, which we will shoot in March 2014. We are now starting the final phase of this project and really pushing the limits to put out an album that you deserve – Stay tuned!

Blackstar Halo will launch a crowdfunding campaign to support upcoming “Siren” -album release. The campaign will start at Friday 28th June at Indiegogo.
